At the present, there are estimated to be 3-4 million Muslim-Americans in the United States. It wasn’t until 2007 that Keith Ellison, the current Attorney General of Minnesota, became the first Muslim elected to U.S. Congress. Since since election, Muslim-Americans have won elections at all levels of local and federal government.
